Frequently Asked Questions

Do you sell consumer direct?
Alchemy Bicycles is ready to ship bikes directly to your doorstep. Minimal assembly is required and we have customer service ready to provide support with any assembly questions.

How much assembly is required?
Assembly is simple. Check the video here. Once you install the front wheel and handlebars, you will be ready to ride. The tires will be set up tubeless from the factory, so you can just inflate to your preferred pressure and go!

Do you offer financing?
Alchemy Bicycles allows for many different payment options including credit card, Paypal and financing. Financing options are available through our third party partner called Bread and are binding contracts between the third party supplier and the purchaser only. Alchemy takes no responsibility for the terms and conditions of this agreement. For more information, click here.

How long is the warranty period?
Alchemy Bicycles provides that any Alchemy shall be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the frame for the original owner. For more detailed information, check here.

Where is the serial number located on my bike?
The serial number on all mountain bikes is located next to the QR code on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell. On road bikes, the serial number is inside the BB shell and can be accessed only by removing the bottom bracket (this is done to avoid potential removal of the serial number in the case of theft).

Do you offer custom paint on bikes?
For over a decade, Alchemy has been hand-painting carbon and titanium dream bikes in Denver, Colorado. Take a look at some of the custom bikes we have paint here.

Do I have any ability to customize the spec details on my road bike?
On all complete road bikes, you have the ability to determine handlebar width, stem length, seat post offset, crank length and gearing at no additional charge. We also allow you to choose the model ENVE wheelset and cockpit and will quote custom components like Chris King hubs and headsets.

Are all Alchemy bikes made in America?
All of Alchemy’s road, all-road and gravel bikes are made in Denver, Colorado, as well as the Arkti titanium hardtail. With the 27.5, you have the option to purchase a Made in America version or one that is sourced externally. All of the Arktos 29 and nine7five models are made by a contract manufacturer.

Do you ship to Canada?
Alchemy Bicycles will ship to Canada, but only offers a $120 credit on shipping and requires the customer to pay any duties associated with delivery into Canada.

Do you offer custom geometry on bikes?
At our Denver headquarters, Alchemy is capable of providing a full spectrum of custom bike services. This includes a professional on-site bike fitting, made-to-order paint designs, and the ability to select preferred components. Check out the full story here.

Do you offer returns on bikes?
Purchasing your dream ride is a substantial investment, so here’s our promise: If you are not 100% satisfied with your new Alchemy Bicycle, you have two weeks from date of purchase to return it.

What is the widest tire that will fit an Arktos?
There is not a detailed standard for tire width from the tire manufacturers, and different rim widths create different widths with the same tire, but a general rule of thumb is 2.5 is the max tire an Arktos will accept.

What type of bottom bracket do I need for my bike?
All of the mountain bikes use a 73mm threaded BB shell.
All of the carbon road, gravel and all-road bikes use a PF86mm bottom bracket.
All titanium bikes use a 73mm threaded BB shell. (Note: Current titanium bikes use a threaded shell, but older models used a PF86mm bb shell, so you will need to confirm which model you have if you are searching for a replacement)

Where is my serial number located?
The serial number on your road, gravel or all-road frame is inside the bottom bracket shell. The serial number for your Arktos is located on the outside of your bottom bracket shell next to the QR code.

What are the rear shock reducer size specs for my bike?
All Arktos use 10mmX22mm hardware.

Do you paint non-Alchemy branded bikes?
We are no longer painting non-Alchemy branded bicycles. We recommend trying Spectrum Power Works in Boulder.

How much sag should I run on my rear shock?
Alchemy recommends that your sag be set at 25 to 30% of the overall shock travel. Please refer to Fox set up instructions here.

Where can I purchase parts for my Alchemy?
We stock all parts for current model year and older Alchemy bicycles. The assembly document for the Arktos details all parts for the mountain bikes and you can email us a picture of which parts you need for a road, gravel or all road bike.

Is there touch up paint available for my bike?
No, we are unable to send touch-up paint because of restrictions with shipping hazardous chemicals.

How can I register my bike?
Registering your new bike is quick and easy: Click here and follow the instructions on the page.

I am the second owner of my bike, do I still have a warranty?
Alchemy’s limited warranty applies to the original owner only and is non-transferable. The original owner must register their purchase within 90-days on the Alchemy website via this link.

Is there an owner’s manual for my bike?
The owner’s manual for your bike should have been in the box with your new bike, but we also have an electronic version here.

Do you demo bikes?
Alchemy has a full demo schedule of events we will attend this year and it is listed under the demo tab on our website. We also schedule local demos from our Denver facility. Contact us here.
