Powder Coat

Spectrum Powder Works uses a refined, rust preventative, quality assured process to 100% powder coat all our frames.  They use a dry pigment to airbrush our logo, graphics and other custom work.  A clear powder coat is also included to put over the color work for sealing and protection.

Unlike liquid finishes that rely on primers, powder is cured in an oven.  This heat causes the pores in the material to open up, allowing the resins in the powder to take root. This heating and cooling process is what makes powder coating such a durable finish.  Powder coating is also more environmentally friendly than liquid finishes because the transfer efficiency is three times that of liquid.

The frame price includes 1 solid color powder coat, 1 color for the logo powder coated on the drive side of the down tube and non-drive side of the top tube, and clear coat. Keep in mind, there are thousand of colors available in powder, including solid tones, pearls, metal flakes and candy colors.  For additional color and custom designs please contact us for pricing.  For color selection, please refer to the Spectrum Powder Works RAL System.
