Alchemy Bicycle Company designs, engineers, and builds handmade bicycle frames in Austin, TX. Each frame is handcrafted by James Flatman, custom frame builder and owner, and a team of craftsmen dedicated to transforming dream bikes into reality.

By building over 600 complete bicycles and frames, James Flatman has mastered the art of handcrafting road, mountain (single or geared), 29er (single or geared), cross, and fixed gear custom bicycles using round or shaped steel, aluminum, titanium, and carbon.

Alchemy operates as your one stop custom bicycle shop. Because we work with a diversity of materials in multiple shapes and sizes, we have the ability to put our customers before the material. We build handmade bicycle frames and forks based on our customer's personal preferences, body fit, goals, vision and expectations, not a specific material or weld. As a result, our customers appreciate their handcrafted bicycle that fits their style and body size perfectly.

Each bike is designed with the right blend of Columbus, True Temper or Dedacciai tubing, top-of-the-line lugs, handcrafted braze ons by James, and powder coat by Spectrum Powder Works. At the end of the build process, James will personally sign each frame for quality assurance.
